Keisha Bass is a screenwriter and published author. She has published two works of women’s fiction with Urban Books/Random House. Her first screenplay, At the Purse Table, is an adapted screenplay based on her first novel, Permanent Resident at the Purse Table. Her second screenplay, At the Altar, is based on her second novel, Permanent Resident at the Altar. She has also published non-fiction articles in magazines and online, including sharing part of her testimony, “Heart. Problems”
in Chicken Soup for the Soul: A Book of Miracles.
Keisha is a connect member of the International Screenwriters Association as well as a member of the Dallas Screenwriters Association (DSA). She was voted Favorite
Screenwriter by the DSA Scene Reads in 2018. In addition, she was named a
quarter-finalist in the 2018 “First 10 Pages.” contest. She served for two years as
the vice-president of the DFW Ready Writers, a local chapter of American Christian Fiction Writers.
Currently, she is working to complete a series of screenplays in the dramatic comedy genre, writing for a new web series, and looking to venture into young adult books. A native Texan, she grew up in Houston, but now resides in Waxahachie where she teaches 8th grade English Language Arts and Reading and coaches girls’ volleyball, basketball, and track.
